   Wikipedia to use regional languages

   Thiruvananthapuram: Wikipedia, the world’s largest free online encyclopaedia, is all set to reach out to a global audience through regional languages and new software that will enable easier editing and monitoring of the inputs.

   At a press conference here on Wednesday, Wikipedia founder Jimmy Wales who is in the city to participate in the international conference on freedom in computing, development and culture, said efforts were on to empower the community of volunteers who contributed articles to Wikipedia.

   He said the Malayalam version of Wikipedia would help to reach a wider audience.
